Homework Monday, 2/13

Pre-Algebra: Pg. 240 #12 - 29. Also your Test Corrections are due tomorrow.

Algebra: Radical Test Review WS. Check your answers here.
Exponents will be noted with the ^ sign. So, "x to the 5th power" will look like "x^5."
The asterisk (*) means multiplication.
Radicals will be with a capital R, so "6 times the square root of of 3" will look like "6R3," or maybe "6 * R3."
If more than one variable ends up under a radical, I will use parentheses, like "4xR(uv)."

1. 4R5, approx. 8.94 (you do need both)
2. R74, approx. 8.60
3. 5R2, approx. 7.07
4. (k^20 * v^36) / (h^12) (that's k to the 20th, times v to the 36th, over h to the 12th)
5. a^6 * x^14
6. (216 * c^12 * d^3) / (e^15)
7. 1 / (81 * f^26 * g^10)
8. 3j^2 * R(2j)
9. (2u * R(2uw)) / w
10. (y^3 * R(3yz)) / (3z)
11. 5 * m^5 * n^5 * R(n)
12. 15.26 feet
13. 47.32 units
14. The highways (long route) are quicker by about 2.12 minutes
