Homework Monday, 10/29

Pre-Algebra: Pg. 123 #8 - 11.  Since there are only 4 problems, you have no reason not to solve them and check your work VERY CAREFULLY.

Let's get crazy!

Homework Wednesday, 10/17

BOTH CLASSES: Check your answers in the posts below.  If you have any questions or you think I have made a mistake, please either comment on the blog or send me an email.

1a. Abscissa is x - coordinate, Ordinate is y - coordinate
1b. Rise is vertical change, Run is horizontal (or something to that effect)
1c. Slope = rise/run; intercept is where it crosses an axis (the other variable = 0)
1d. x - intercept is the value (number) for x where it crosses the x - axis, y - intercept is the value where it crosses the y - axis.
1e. Horizontal lines have slope = 0, Vertical lines have no slope.

4. m = -3/4

5a. y-intercept at (0,0), your line goes down 3, right 7
5b. y-intercept at (0,10), line goes up 3, right 1
5c. Horizontal line through (0,-3)

6a. y = (2/7)x + 8
6b. y = y = (-5/2)x + 7
